Welcome to Applewood Retrievers.  We breed quality Labrador Retrievers and Golden Retrievers.  We produce versatile, sound dogs with good temperament and trainability. Our puppies have gone on to compete successfully in AKC events such as Field Trials, Hunt Tests, Agility, and Conformation. Some of our dogs went on to Search and Rescue careers. Since 1973 we have bred dogs who are as at home on the couch as they are working hard in the field.

In addition to our breeding program, Applewood Retrievers also offers a training program for gun dogs destined to hunt waterfowl and upland birds. Our ultimate goal is to bring, to the best of our ability, the best out in every dog, whether for hunting or AKC Hunt Test competitions. In addition to training for Hunt Test competitions, we also offer handling services for those dogs we train at Applewood Retrievers.
